Sept. 28 - Oct. 3 - Ghost Mountain - Pollock Pines

A group of friends (Debbie & Shorty Shelton, Ron & Darlene Davis, Marlene & John Barton, Kelly & Steve Ponte) all wanted to visit the Apple Hill area/events, so we all got reservations at Ghost Mountain RV Park.  This park is a membership park, so the camping fee was $10 per night.

We were parked near Shorty and Debbie Shelton, so we were pretty much in the center of any action that may take place at the camp site.

We walked up to the old town inside Ghost Mountain, which is where the Ponderosa was filmed.  The town is a facade, but a fun area.

After walking around in the town, we headed back to the campsite for dinner.  The sunset was beautiful, and the weather was warm.

Our (Shorty & Debbie and us) first stop on Friday was Bill's Apples in Camino, CA.  We all loved the beautiful landscaping, and enjoyed a peeled apple for "free".  A lady was in the back patio of the store peeling and pitting apples for people to eat.  That was fun.

We are always ready for a picnic, so we  headed to an area that had picnic tables, and beer and/or wine.  We found that at the Jack Russell Winery & Brewery, except the winery/brewery had not inventoried their wine, so no wine was available.  They had Mead (which is made from honey and what the Vikings drank), but it tasted pretty bad, so beer was the choice.

This llama just sat their and didn't move.  He looked like a giant snail to me, just kind of staring.  It is always fun to see animals out of the everyday types we usually see.

By Sunday, the weather took an extreme turn.  We went from hot and sunny, to cool and wet.  We welcomed the rain, but everything at our campsite, including all vehicles of course, was covered in that fine red dirt.  Rain just made a mess of everything.

We made our way to the clubhouse, which is the Saloon in the Old Ghost Town.  We played cards and had snacks.

Another fun time with friends!
